Owner, Vira Creative
Registered Yoga Teacher
About Me: I grew up in a small town in northern Wisconsin. Both my parents work hard for what they have and through them and my years as a competitive gymnast I learned the value of hard work. I have one older sister, two beautiful nieces, a husband and we have a daughter of our own. Family is very important to me.
My desire to explore led me to Chicago when I was 19 years old. I completed my Bachelor's degree from Northeastern Illinois University and decided to pursue a Master's degree immediately after. In 2009 I completed the Integrated Marketing Communications Master's program at Roosevelt University.
In 2010, I began a two year certification process to become a Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga teacher. Having practiced yoga since 2003, teaching was something I had my sights on for a while. In March of 2012 when I became certified there were less than 300 people in the world who held this specific type of certification.
I find it rewarding to be a small part of someone's journey to success, which is why I choose to focus on consulting for small businesses and teaching yoga. In addition, since 2014, I've been an adjunct faculty member at Saint Xavier University. I teach a course called Advertising in Marketing to students in their junior and senior year. From 2014 - 2015, prior to the institution's closure, I taught a course called Branding and Marketing to Harrington College of Design photography majors in their senior year.
When I'm not consulting or teaching, I enjoy my own yoga practice, Pure Barre, my dog, snowboarding, golf, cooking and eating out, wine, music, the Cubbies, and spending time with family and friends.
